GLASS

I make leaded windows using a method which hasn't really changed for hundreds of years, and materials which are equally traditional; coloured glass - both hand and machine made, sometimes painted, etched or sandblasted - lead and solder.

I've always visited and been inspired by old buildings, and coloured glass has always fascinated me with the way it shows so differently from outside or in, casting reflections, welcoming and warming, remembering and commemorating.

I primarily work to commission which means the panel will be a one-off, bespoke piece. Often the commissioning process can be one which involves a lot of listening and interpreting; it is a very satisfying and creative process. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the possibility of a commission.

I undertook a stained glass apprenticeship in my early 20s (I'm in my mid forties now; not sure quite how that happened...) with a very experienced maker. When he retired I took on the business, and have been running it, sometimes full-time and sometimes part-time, ever since. I have done a lot of stained glass teaching to adults and some to children too.
